Courage in the face of a climate in crisis
Dear Rockrdige
What do you think of the following narrative?
We need leaders who are willing to show courage, strength, and leadership in confronting the climate crisis.
We can not afford to put our faith in leaders who choose a weak path, who don't have the courage to deal with the crisis and prefer to sweep it under the carpet and pretend it isn't happening.
When American families turn on their taps in the future, they will want to know that water will be running out of their taps. They will want to know that they can afford that water, and that they will have freedom from want of water.
They will want to know that past generations elected leaders that had the courage and the strength to level with the American people, to stand up and make the tough decisions that were necessary for America's children. Leaders that provide our future generations with hope in the face of fear, with strength in the face of weak denial.
We can no longer afford politicians with a loose sense of morality, who are more interested in the cocktail party circuit and their local yacht club, than in standing up to a climate in crisis.
Americans need leadership based on hope, strength, and action, not weakness, denial, and excuses.
