I live in Central Oregon and we are represented by two Republicans who vote right along with President Bush. Senator Gordon Smith votes 90% of the time with Bush and 2nd CD Congressman Greg Walden votes 99% of the time with Bush. The problem is they have preform great constituent services and if you attend one of their town hall meetings they are very personable. How do you convince voters that regardless of "How nice they are" their voting record tells a different story.
This problem crosses party lines. Hard core Democrats look past their voting records and positions and support these guys.
As a "Yellow Dog Democrat" (I'd vote for a yellow dog before I'd vote for a Republican)I find this hard to comprehend.
