Framing Science
Tip of the Hat
Chris Mooney and Matthew Nisbet
"On these highly politicized topics, scientists need to stop thinking that technical knowledge, alone, suffices to drive decision-making or change minds....after writing about the science-politics interface for the past several years, I've become firmly convinced of the need for a fundamental sea change in science communication strategies." -Mooney

Chris Mooney, journalist for Seed Magazine and writer of Republican War on Science, and Matthew Nisbet, professor and blogger of Framing Science, are both dedicating their time and effort to bring framing into the scientific community.
The science community is discussing this on Mooney's and Nisbet's blogs:

New! parallel discussions of framing in science
There are some great conversations going on in these blogs and another one here:

These parallel the discussions of framing in political circles. They are having the same problems, revealing the same misunderstandings, and working through clarifying framing.
How do we more effectively frame framing?! I certainly wish there was a separate word to mean deep framing, rather than having the same word used across several disciplines like anthropology, psychology, and communication theory.
