Greater Good magazine, online

Created by etbnc on Thursday, February 21, 2008 05:09 PM

I saw several things I found worthy of Hat Tips in the latest issue of Greater Good magazine, which is a project of the Greater Good Science Center at Berkeley. So I thought I would consolidate my enthusiasm in one alert, here.

The current issue online, at http://greatergood.berkeley.edu/[…]/index.html has several articles about the psychology of power and influence. The articles about helping kids practice empathy and healthier urban planning intrigued me also.

Nature is progressive, too!

Thank you, I really enjoyed reading about a progressive aproach to power in the article titled "The Power Paradox". One of the things that struck me about it was its use of work in social and psychological sciences that points out the occurrence and advantages of progressive-like behavior in nature. It was quite a contrast with the variations of "survival of the fittest" that are so frequently used (maybe sometimes unwittingly) to assert that the conservative worldview is somehow the "natural" one.

Regards,

Luis.
